Ways to work with us:

Surface Pattern and Textile

License existing repeat patterns or commission new ones for fabric, wallpaper, homewares, stationery, and gift wrap. Our pattern library spans florals, botanicals, food and kitchen motifs, wildlife, and abstract watercolor designs - ready to adapt for your colorway or end use. Particularly well-suited for boutique apparel brands, paper goods, home textiles, and independent wallpaper studios.

Product Collection

Work together on a bespoke illustrated collection for a product range - from initial creative brief to final artwork delivery. Ideal for seasonal launches, capsule collections, or a signature brand illustration that anchors a product line.

Editorial and Publishing

Illustrated covers, chapter headers, botanical plates, and full editorial commissions for books, magazines, and digital publications. Florals and wildlife, food, lifestyle, and gift publishing are a particular strength, as are illustrated maps, recipe books, and children’s titles. Comfortable working to publisher briefs and production timelines.

Packaging and Brand Illustration

Custom illustration for packaging, labeling, brand identity, and marketing campaigns. Watercolor brings a unique and authentic warmth that photography and vector art can’t replicate - especially effective for food and beverage packaging, cosmetics, gifting brands, and season retail campaigns. Deliverables can include layered files, repeat patterns, spot illustrations, and full brand illustration suites.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Art licensing is an agreement that allows a brand or manufacturer to use an artist's original work on their products, packaging, or marketing in exchange for a licensing fee or royalty. You don't own the artwork — you have the right to use it as agreed. It's how independent artists like The Scribblist get their work onto products at major retailers, while retaining ownership of the original illustration.

  • Both. We have an extensive library of original watercolor illustrations available for immediate licensing — patterns, botanicals, food and kitchen motifs, seasonal designs, and more. We also take on custom commissions where new artwork is created specifically for your brand. Reach out with your project brief and we'll let you know which approach fits best.

  • Licensing fees vary depending on the type of use, exclusivity, territory, and term length. Custom commissions are priced based on scope and deliverables. We're happy to discuss your project and budget in an initial conversation — fill out the inquiry form below to get started.

  • Yes — custom commissions are built around your brief, including color palette, mood, subject matter, and style direction. For pattern licensing, existing designs can often be adapted to a new colorway. We'll discuss this during the project scoping process.
